Li is the Chinese background girl, who was born and obtained undergraduate degree of Fashion Design and Technology in Beijing, China, and came to New York City to pursue her further education in Parsons.
Like usual, I am so interested into the engrossing inspirational process of fashion designers. 1Granary stated in the article, “Andrea devised a list of all of her pet-hates, and managed to fine-tune the bizarre mishmash into something she liked ”
By help from Rubik’s cube, Jiapei Li tried to use different combination of five elements, “Red, animal print, 20s jazz, hippie, 90s hiphop,” into her designs.

Exaggerated designs and overstated details with bold bright colors seem to represent the styles of Jiapei Andrea Li’s designs. By matching with one or two colors as main, and make them as the solid focus of all the attentions.
She loves, so eagers and never hesitates to add more and more into her designs. Simply, Like what she puts on the website,
“I AM WHAT [I AM]”

Under Milk’s interview, Li expresses her designing concepts are for a special girl, “She’s optimistic and cool. She loves life. She’s always having fun and always being cool.”
The partner Weishi Li mentioned, the theme for this label is PLAYFUL, by combination of sporty fabrics in feminine silhouettes.
SS2015 Collections @Jiapei Andrea Li
SS2015 Collections can be regarded as season of much bigger bowknot and macramé under color of marroon, babyblue, and cleanwhite. By the runway moves of the models, those conceptual pieces become much more vivid and lively into real life.

The interview conducted by DEUX HOMMES, Li said, “At Parsons, we focus on architecture. We’re inspired by architecture. Our designs are inspired by what we study.”
FW2015 Collections are so obvious to show the stylish architecture--wise clothes for her lovers. I am so lucky to see the young and aspirational designer, Jiapei Li, shows up to make her pieces into real 3D architectural feelings.
Clothes are not simply constrained by body-covers, but rather than aesthetical architecture’s fashion.
In addition, of course, I am also charmed by those high-end techniques behind to make all these clothes happened and stand out into public eyes.

SS2016 Collections, for me, are more likely into stylish models under their multiple poses. The 2015 New York Fashion show may better explain the collections.

The whole fashion show was titled as “Just Kids”. Wooden background was full of styled model under the over-sized clothes. “Exaggerated” and “Overstated”, going through all her collections, tried to show the audience, the world is how easy, smooth, and relax as the way models acted.

In the modern times, thinness may become the top priority for many girls, and some of them even eat less than normal daily nutrition to reach the unrealistic weight level.
But from Li, she thought the best fashion is to make the person happy when they put on the clothes. This could also be regarded as one of reasons why she always try to make all her collections into OVERSIZED way.
It’s fun situation to see most designers begin to mention and emphasize Comfortness is the Top Priority compared with other factors in fashion world.
Furthermore, by comparing with modern outfitting concepts and beauty measures, Li concentrates on showing more personal personality and convey the new beauty ideas to public.
“I don’t want the girl to have to be skinny, tiny… For fashion, I think it’s important to make the person happy when they put on my clothes. It’s comfortable, but it’s fashion; it’s still modern.”
One more interesting point mentioned by Li is she follows her emotions and doesn’t plan her life, which most artists agreed into the same point.
From my realization, most of those artists try to use the aesthetic measure and materialistic techniques to create their own “perfect” world under their minds.
Maybe, the best way to fully stimulate creativity is completely empty your brain and just let the imagination grow bigger and bigger.
